Taiwan entered an aging society in 2018. In Tainan City, the elderly population aged 65 and above accounts for 19.06% of the total population. Given the annual increase in the aging population, it is projected that by 2026, Tainan will become a “super-aged society.” According to statistics from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Tainan’s long-term care service coverage rate reached 91.6% in 2023, ranking first among the six special municipalities for three consecutive years, highlighting the critical importance of LTC services.
Cheng Kung University Hospital serves as the Long-Term Care A-unit in the Northern and Eastern Districts. Case managers conduct home visits to assess LTC service needs and assist in connecting families with LTC resources to reduce caregiver burden. To date, 878 cases have been served in the Northern District and 442 cases in the Eastern District. Since March 2021, Tainan Municipal Hospital has taken over the Long-Term Care A-unit for the remote Shanshang District, serving a total of 209 elderly residents. Starting March this year, the hospital expanded its services to the Eastern District, reaching 227 cases in just six months.
Chairperson Liu Zhenxiu of Haw Di I Foods expressed that the repeated donation of electric scooters stems from a desire to give back to society and benefit the community. She hopes this initiative will inspire more people to engage in social welfare activities. The donation also aligns with green energy policies, promoting environmental protection and carbon reduction.

He thanked Haw Di I Foods for upholding excellent corporate social responsibility and becoming a valuable partner in providing high-quality LTC services to the Tainan community.
